This artwork was created using a reference photograph of a Sothern Cheyenne warrior named Wolf Robe taken by De Lancy Gill in June 1909. It is scrimshawed on a very old cross section of vintage elephant ivory. The strength, charactor and dignity in his face has inspired me for many years. Despite the hardships that he has suffered, his spirit is not broken.
